Fiduciary Standard

As a Registered Investment Advisor, ACT Wealth Management, LLC abides by the “Fiduciary Standard.” The word “Fiduciary” comes originally from the Latin word “fides,” meaning faith, and “fiducia,” meaning trust. The Certified Financial Planning Board defines a fiduciary as, “One who acts in utmost good faith, in a manner he or she reasonably believes to be in the best interest of the client.”

Many investment professionals only have to abide by a “Suitability Standard”, which is vastly different from the “Fiduciary Standard.” The Financial Planning Association (FPA) contrasts the differences between the two standards in the following article: “Consumer Tips on Working with a Financial Advisor.” More and more investors are asking for investment professionals to abide by the “Fiduciary Standard” as illustrated in this article published by the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards: “Financial Planning Coalition asks SEC to Require Fiduciary Standard of Care to Protect Retail Customers.”

Knowing that your financial advisor at ACT Wealth Management, LLC serves as a fiduciary on your behalf provides an added level of trust that investors deserve and should demand.
